Cable Hip Abduction Exercise Video Guide

Cable Hip Abduction Instructions:

1.Set Machine Handle:

ย ย ย - Set the machine handle at the lowest vertical mount, with the strap attachment.

2.Position Yourself:

ย ย ย - Facing the screen, attach the strap to one ankle and stand holding the machine.

3.Initial Stance:

ย ย ย - Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, toes pointed forward.

4.Perform the Movement:

ย ย ย - Slowly kick the leg with the strap backward.

5.Maintain Form:

ย ย ย - Do not allow hips to twist, but focus on squeezing the glute.

6.Tempo:

ย ย ย - Best to perform at a slow tempo with a pause at the full contracted position.

Exercise Tips:

-Posture:

ย ย - Stand up straight and focus on moving only at the hip.

ย ย - Keep your torso as still as possible.

-Range of Motion:

ย ย - You can eventually begin to increase the range of motion by standing further and further away from the machine.

ย ย - This will require a good deal of balance as you won't be able to hold onto the machine.
